Gucci is doubling down on its links with Thailand, naming actor, model and singer Gulf, whose real name is Kanawut Traipipattanapong, its first male brand ambassador from the country.

He follows in the footsteps of actress Davika Hoorne, who was named brand ambassador for the Italian luxury house, as well as its Gucci Beauty division, last October, making her the first Thailandborn ambassador for the house.

“I am deeply honored to embark on this collaboration. Being a part of the Gucci family is not just a professional milestone but also a testament to my commitment to the values and legacy that Gucci represents in the world of high fashion,” Traipipattanapong said.

A prominent personality in the entertainment and media industries in Thailand, Traipipattanapong is best known for his leading roles in the movie “Bua

Pen Fun Yap” and TV series “TharnType: The Series” and “You Are My Makeup Artist,” aired on the One 31 and Channel 3 networks, respectively.

A friend of the house since 2020, Traipipattanapong most recently attended the Gucci Ancora men's fall

2024 show in Milan last January sporting a white, logoed sweatshirt paired with black leather pants and crossbody Jackie bag. He previously sat front row at the Gucci cruise 2024 fashion show held in Seoul last May.

In his new role, he is expected to continue attending both global and local Gucci events.

Born in Bangkok, Traipipattanapong's acting career kicked off in 2015 at age 17 with a guest role in Channel 3's series “Mafia Luerd Mungkorn: Singha.” After a two-year hiatus from the spotlight to pursue his education, the actor was cast for “TharnType: The Series,” which boosted his local and global popularity and gained him accolades for his portraiture of Type Thiwat, a prejudiced university boy whose relationship with gay roommate

Tharn Kirigun gradually evolves from tension to affection.

In 2020 Traipipattanapong added singer to his résumé, releasing his first single, titled "Missing Baby," alongside his colleague Wanarat Ratsameerat, as part of record label GMM Grammy's Boyfriend project.

In his role as a Gucci ambassador, Traipipattanapong joins Hoorne, as well as South Korean talents including K-drama actress Gyuyoung Park; Hanni, a lead singer of the Korean group NewJeans; “Squid Game” star Lee Jung-jae, and IU, the nickname of singer and actress Lee Ji-eun.

The pool of international personalities named Gucci ambassadors also includes Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner; Chinese actress Ni Ni; actor and singer Xiao

Zhan; British soccer player Jack Grealish; American-born and South Korea-based rapper and entrepreneur Jay Park, as well as Japanese actor Jun Shison and Indian actress and producer Alia Bhatt.

Other Gucci faces include Paul Mescal, Bad Bunny, Kendall Jenner, Julia Garner, A$AP Rocky, Miley Cyrus and Elliot Page.
