Fran Still Loves Paris

- — L.T.

Fran Drescher is back in Paris and in Ami.

After attending the 2024 Oscars in a custom see-through sequined embroidered black dress paired with a cropped jacket by Ami's Alexandre Mattiussi on March 10, the actress and SAG-AFTRA president is the face of the French label's spring 2024 campaign.

In the images captured by Berlin- based photographer Vitali Gelwich and revealed Monday, Drescher can be seen strolling the neighborhood around Place des Victoires, where the French label's headquarters are located.

In addition to a broad smile, she's wearing a sage green double- breasted suit with a matching puffy Voulez-Vous purse in one shot, while she pairs a long black coat with the Ami Ami flap bag and black- and- gold striped jewelry.

Drescher made her first appearance in the Ami world last June. She was among the guests at the Tennis Club de Paris, taking in Mattiussi's spring 2024 show, where the French * designer offered fluid coats in soft hues for day, a more formal twist in dark yet roomy cuts for later, and a smattering of sequins throughout.

She was back in the City of Light in January, revealing her Francophilia with a heartfelt “Je t'aime” to Paris as she took in the typically Parisian Haussmann- style facade recreated for the brand's fall 2024 show, inspired by apartment- block neighbors going about their business at the break of day.

Here, too, tailoring was the lynchpin of a quiet luxury collection that was rich in luxed-up workwear for men and “Belle de Jour” types in belted wool trenches. Eveningwear brought cozy sparkle, with an off-the-shoulder black minidress, and a flapper-ish sequin slipdress, with thick, wooly tights and tall, chunky-heel boots to keep out the cold.

This day-to- night narrative will get a second outing on April 10, when Ami stages a repeat show of its fall 2024 collection in Suzhou, China.
