Safiyaa’s First Swimwear Capsule Offers Beach- to- night Styles
Safiyaa, the London- based luxury ready-towear, bridal and demi- couture label often worn by Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is diving into swimwear.
The debut swim collection highlights the brand's timeless, chic and bespoke design codes across 30- plus swimwear and cover- up pieces. The capsule is available to purchase on the brand's e- commerce, with prices ranging from 135 pounds to 845 pounds.
“At the heart of Safiyaa's DNA lies a profound commitment to the female form that seamlessly blends elegance with functionality. Embracing the ethos of versatility, we believe in buildable wardrobe elements that celebrate individuality and stylistic expression. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, each piece was designed with confidence and comfort at its core,” founder and creative director Daniela Karnuts told WWD.
She added that the line, designed by a woman for women, was inspired by sculpture and architecture, as seen through the capsule's one- shoulder black, chartreuse, lupine purple and white maillots and bikinis with sculptural necklines, like the Amyra black maillot with crystal cord embroidery.
“Our focus was on creating a light capsule wardrobe for travel, one you can combine and style with ease. Offering swimwear, which can also serve as cocktail wear when needed, is intended to bring ease to our well-traveled customers,” Karnuts said. Her sophisticated cover- ups, spanning from sleek ruched and draped swim skirts to airy poly georgette dresses with plunging necklines, certainly fit the bill for beach-to- night dressing.
“As with all of our fabrics, we put a lot of effort into finding the right construction. It was so important we provided the proper stability, with just enough stretch, to create an elegant silhouette that gives confidence and comfort to the wearer. Specialized under- construction ensures discreet yet effective support while maintaining an elegant silhouette,” she added of the double- layered, nonunderwire, supportive swimwear styles in vertigo jersey ( a fabrication noted by the brand to resist chlorine, sunscreen and oils).
