Over nearly a century,theYuma County Library District has grown to include a Main Library and seven branches.The library district provides public library services to visitors and residents of Yuma County as“your center for informatio­n, community enrichment, recreation­al reading,and lifelong learning.”Each library features books,magazines,newspapers,reference materials,Internet access and wireless service,CDs,DVDs,and best of all, helpful staff to assist you.

LIBRARY LOCATIONS

The Main Library and the Heritage Library are both located in the city of Yuma.There are branch libraries located in the Foothills,Wellton,Roll,Dateland, Somerton,and San Luis.Visit us online at yumalibrar­y.org.The website provides directions and contact informatio­n for all locations.Hours of operation,a calendar of events,and access to the library’s catalog are also available.

HOW TO GET A LIBRARY CARD

Library cards are free to all residents and property owners of Yuma County, and are also issued free to all active U.S.military personnel.Non-resident cards are available for a fee of $5 per month, $15 for six months, or $25 for one year. San Pasqual Valley Unified School District students are eligible for a reduced fee of $5 for one year. All children or young adults up to age 18 can be issued a library card with a parent’s or legal guardian’s signature.

Once you have your library card,not only will you be able to check out books, magazines,DVDs and other library materials, you will also be able to check out eBooks and streaming media from yumalibrar­y.org.The district has many online resources available, including Ancestry.com and Chilton Auto Repair.You will also be able to access your library account to place holds and renew your materials.

WHAT E-TITLES YUMA COUNTY LIBRARIES OFFER

Books, audiobooks, magazines, comics,and newspapers are all available to download.Access to streaming movies, TV shows, and music is also provided. Download e-titles through the library’s website at yumalibrar­y.org

COMPUTER CLASSES & TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE

Basic and advanced computer classes are available at no charge. Space is limited to ensure personaliz­ed instructio­n. Registrati­on begins 30 minutes prior to each class.Appointmen­ts for one-on-one assistance are also available at several libraries.

PROGRAMMIN­G

The Library District offers an array of programs that are open to the public at no charge.The 2018-2019 winter calendar includes programs about Arizona history, the Yuma Proving Ground, genealogy, health, and finance.
