Supervisors to honor county employee award nominees
The Yuma County Board of Supervisors will hold a special session 3:30 p.m. today to honor the nominees for its Employee of the Year and Safety Excellence awards.
The ceremony will be held at Yuma Art Center, 254 S. Main St., and will also recognize employee milestones, in five-year increments.
The Nominees for Employee of the Year are:
• Christina Charles, Juvenile Court family support specialist (three years of service)
• Miriam Galindo, Health District immunizations office supervisor (14.5 years)
• Nancy Gray Eade, Superior Court administrator (five years)
• Ana Navejar, Development Services senior rightof-way agent (20 years)
• Lauren P. Regenhardt, Library District teen services manager (five years)
The criteria for choosing the winner, who will be announced April 29 at the annual Employee Dinner and Dance, can include developing cost savings for the county through ideas or suggestions and providing exceptional community service. The winner will receive a $1,000 award and a plaque, and two top finalists will get $500 each and a plaque.
On Wednesday the eight quarterly winners of the county’s Safety Excellence Award will also be presented. They are Deborah Byrd, Elizabeth Caudillo and Thomas Ruelle of the Sheriff’s Department, Brian Franssen and Francisca Murietta of the Library District, Michael K. Coolidge Sr. of General Services, Steve Deupree of Public Works and Jeff Weeks of Information Technology Services.
These employees were recognized for seeing and taking action about a safety hazard, and one will get an overall Safety Excellence Award of the Year April 29 as well.
