The Compassus program serving Yuma and the surrounding areas is proud to recognize Thelma Franklin and all hospice volunteers during National Volunteer Week April 23-29 for providing companionship, support and dignity to hospice patients and their loved ones.
In 2016, Franklin completed 169 patient visits, totaling 235 hours to provide companionship and short-term respite for Compassus patients and their families. She has been volunteering at Compassus since June 2007.
“We are proud to recognize Thelma for her efforts to honor life and offer hope to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses by supporting them with compassion, integrity and excellence,” said Amberly Davis-Owens, executive director for Compassus — Yuma. “Volunteers like Thelma help make our mission a reality here at Compassus, and we are fortunate to have her as a part of our care team.”
