Gila Ridge’s Taylor, White/Nelson, San Luis’ Galindo lose on day 2 of tournament

Four local tennis players — two singles players and one doubles pair — competed on day two of the AIA State Championsh­ips in the Phoenix area on Saturday, though none advanced to next week’s quarterfin­als.

San Luis’ Jose Galindo (Division I boys) and Gila Ridge’s Allison Taylor (Division II girls) were the two local singles players to make it to Saturday’s thirdround action, while Gila Ridge’s Joshua White and Tanner Nelson made it on the Division II boys doubles side.
