The 17th annual Jimmie Dee’s Invitation­al Golf Tournament will be played at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Saturday the 29th, with the ladies playing the Fortuna De Oro Golf Course, also on Saturday. The men will play a two-person gross and net scramble with a skins game, and the ladies will play a two-person net scramble. Sandra Lee posted a net score of 33 to win the first flight of the Mesa Del Sol Ladies Club Play on April 13, with Connie Donner, Sue Morgenthal­er and Marilyn Cotter tied for second place at 34. Nancy Holmes and Pilar Dominguez tied for first place in the second flight with a net score of 32, with Ruth Koenig winning third place.

On Monday at the Foothills Par 3 Golf Course, the men’s gross-score winners were Rollie Harris, Bob Grause and Ken Kingston. The net-score winners were Jack Costello, Norm Nash and Rollie Harris. The team winners were Keith Bigelow, Dale Palmershei­m, Dirk Gleeysteen and Rollie Harris.

Mike Mikkola posted a 1-under 71 to win the gross division of the a-flight of the Mesa Del Sol MGA play on Saturday morning. The b-flight gross-division winner was Albert Johnson with an 86, with David Lee winning the gross division of the c-flight with a score of 89. Warren Ohland won the gross division of the d-flight with a 101. The net-division flight winners were Ed McCoy, Hugh Strain, Wayne Gunion and Sam Samples.

Warren Ohland carried teammates Ken McNeal, David Lee and Al Johnson to a first-place finish in the Can/Am play Monday morning at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course with 82 pro power points. Gerald Larrabee, Mike Crook, Dave Henager and Cliff Webber won second place with 77 points. The deuce winners were Gerald Larrabee, Bill Slade, Hugh Strain, Mike Mikkola and David Lee.

On Tuesday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course the men’s silver grossscore winners were Larry Garrett, Bill Taylor and Frankie Allen. The net-score winners were Frankie Allen, Lee Estes, and Charles Duncan.

Selma Cusick posted a net score of 27 to win the first flight of the Mesa Del Sol Lady Hustlers “CrissCross” play Monday morning, with Sandy Lee and Terry Bennett tied for second place with a score of 30. Donna Brown won the second flight, with Phyllis Mashburn in second and Darla Peterson and Louise Mabey tied for third place. Gina White was the third-flight winner, with Julie Winquist in second place and Carol Roland and Marge Bartel tied for third place.

Tom McIntire teamed with Ron Hardin, Diana Bird and Donna Morris for a scrambling 63 to win first place in the Moose Lodge League play Tuesday at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course. Second place went to the team of Dale Hoch, Evelyn Pribble, Maxine Gatte and Sandy Henson.

Sheila Koch posted a score of 38 to win first place in the first flight of the DHWG weekly “Tin Whistle” play Tuesday, with Sue Janney in second place. Gloria Gentry was the second-flight winner, with Diane Comeau in second place. The KP winners were Sue Janney, Diane Peters, Donna Lalonde and Heather Comeau.

Nancy Holmes was the top winner in the Mesa Del Sol Pinky’s Pick play Wednesday, with David Lee taking second place and David Doherty placing third. The skin winners were Mike Mikkola, Gayle Mabey, Clifford Weber, David Henager, Pam Herring, Darla Peterson and Sam Samples.

On Wednesday at the Foothills Golf Course, the men’s gross-score winners were Michael Costello, Ken Sutton and Larry Rocci. The net-score winners were Michaael Costello, Bill Helm and Larry Rocci. The team winners were Mike Dupuis, Larry Rocci and Michaelc Costello.

Claudia Campbell was the first-flight winner in the Yuma Golf and Country Club ladies play Thursday, with Carol Foye and Kim Walker tied for second place. In the second flight, Sharon Anderson was the winner, with Pam Brown and Ellen Scott tied for second place. Joy Mueller was the KP winner on the fourth hole, with Claudia Campbell winning the KP on the 12th hole.

On Wednesday in the Mesa del Sol Men’s Twilight League, Doug Thompson and Chris Corbet dominated with a combined net total score of 64 and won the two-man, net best-ball play. Mike Havens and Bill Daily were second at 68. Havens took over as Spring Season Points Leader. Next week’s event is a two-man net combined total on the back nine. Play begins at 5 p.m.

On Thursday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s copper grossscore winners were Troy Riechert, Brian Healy and Larry Garrett. The netscore winners were Fred Okeholm, Jack Russell and Troy Riechert.

The next Desert Hills Men’s Golf Associatio­n tournament will be a twoman, best-ball format and will be played at the Desert Hills Golf Course on May 13 with tee times starting at 8 a.m. Members may contact Bruce Clark at 928-580-6436 for entry or additional informatio­n.

The Mesa Del Sol 2017 “Big Cup Scramble” will be played May 20 with checkin time at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Players may contact the pro shot at 928-342-1283 for entry or for informatio­n.

The annual Yuma City Golf Championsh­ip will be played at the Desert Hills Golf Course May 27-29. This year, there will be flight divisions for female and male players. All players may contact the pro shop at 928-373-5220 for entry or additional informatio­n.
