County to hold 2 budget meetings
The Yuma County Board of Supervisors will hold two special meetings this week to go over the staff-recommended 2017-18 county budget.
The board will meet 9 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Board of Supervisors auditorium, 198 S. Main St., Yuma, discussing different departments and expenses each day.
Tuesday’s meeting could last most of the day, and scheduled topics include:
• Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation • Crossroads Mission • Compensation/benefits • County Administrator (including emergency management, risk management, communications and elections) • Board of Supervisors • Library District • Numerous other departments, including public works, development services, health district, housing, human resources, information technology systems, county attorney and public and legal defender’s offices, recorder, school superintendent, assessor, and improvement districts.
Wednesday’s agenda includes:
• Superior Court, justice of the peace, juvenile court, constables
• Sheriff’s Office • Adult probation • Capital improvement projects
The supervisors will discuss and give direction to staff at the end of each session.
