After an accident forced the closure of Goldsboro Bakery, the Foothills business reopened its doors on Tuesday, manager Amy Goss told the Yuma Sun.

Back on March 29, a car driven by an elderly woman crashed through the front of the bakery. Fortunately, no one at the business was hurt. The driver, after being evaluated at the scene, refused medical attention, according to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.

Also in the Foothills area, another tenant is leaving Pioneer Shopping Center. Last week I mentioned a few businesses who are moving out of the center. Woofers Tweeters and Friends, a pet grooming business owned by Linda Maines, is also leaving her current location at 11274 S. Fortuna Road, Suite B7. After this month, she will be grooming dogs from her home, 10774 E. 39th Place. Her phone number will remain the same: (928) 342-0001. Maines is now taking appointments for June, but you’ll have to wait until Tuesday because she closes shop Sundays and Mondays.

I’ve had a couple of people ask what’s being built on the southwest corner of 16th Street and Avenue A. After doing some digging, I found out that it is the site of a future dentist’s office. Dr. Alex Freeman is moving his practice from the current location at the ProMed Building, 2270 S. Ridgeview Dr., Suite 204.

Another tenant has already moved from the ProMed Building. After 10 years in Suite 301, the Yuma Urology Center and Dr. Nash Chulamorkodt can now be found at 2275 S. Elks Lane.

A reader has asked what is being built at Avenue 7E and 32nd Street. I have learned that River Valley Assisted Living will be located on that site. Groundbreaking took place March 2.

Did you read the story in Friday’s edition about the new restaurant opening at Yuma International Airport? Brewers Restaurant and Sports Bar will open a restaurant at the airport in June. Jeff and Courtney
