The AIA Track and Field State Championsh­ips wrapped up Saturday at Mesa Community College. In Division I, Cibola finished tied for 15th in the boys standings and Kofa finished tied for 17th in the girls standings. In Division II, Gila Ridge finished eighth among girls teams and tied for ninth among boys teams.

Notable results from Saturday were as follows:

• Cibola’s Thomas Cain, the Division I 3,200-meter champion Wednesday, placed sixth in the 1,600-meter run Saturday in 4:32.34. He also ran the 800 meters, coming in 18th in 2:03.43

• Cibola’s Gabriel Urbalejo placed eighth in the Division I boys 800-meter run in 2:00.20

• Cibola’s Hyrum Broby came in ninth in the Division I boys pole vault at 13 feet, 6 inches

• Kofa’s Karen Rivas placed fifth in the Division I girls 300-meter hurdles in 49.38, the Kings’ second placer of the meet

• Kofa’s Jesus Montejano came in 14th in the boys 800-meter run in 2:01.80, with teammate Ed Hernandez coming in 22nd in 2:05.39

• Gila Ridge’s Savannah Stewart recorded the day’s highest local finish by taking third in the girls discus at 122 feet, 7 inches

• Gila Ridge’s Cody Hartman, Christian DeBoard and Daniel Marquez all finished right in a row in the Division II boys 1,600-meter run; Hartman came in fifth in 4:28.82, DeBoard came in sixth in 4:32.05 and Marquez came in seventh in 4:33.22

• Hartman also came in fifth in the 800 meters in 1:59.85, about six-tenths of a second out of first; Marquez came in 21st in 2:09.33 in that race

• Gila Ridge’s Hanah Sims collected her second top-eight finish of the meet with a fifth-place finish in the girls high jump at 5 feet

• Gila Ridge’s Mia Corners placed in the Division II girls 200 meters for the second year in a row, coming in seventh in 27.56

• Gila Ridge’s Hannah Weller ended her accomplish­ed career with an eighth-place finish in the Division II girls 400-meter dash in 1:00.47

• Gila Ridge’s Ryleigh North placed in two events: the Division II boys 300-meter hurdles (8th in 43.20) and triple jump (8th in 44 feet, 1 inch)
