Providing a little spark
Arizona State University mascot “Sparky” (left in photo above) plays rock, paper, scissors with 12-year-old Frida Garcia, a patient in the pediatrics ward at Yuma Regional Medical Center, during a visit sponsored by the ASU Alumni Association Wednesday afternoon. Sparky toured the ward with Dr. Christine K. Wilkinson, president and CEO of the ASU Alumni Association, and Yuma orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ram Krishna, currently serving as secretary on the Arizona Board of Regents. Sparky acts embarrassed (right) after giving Elvira Diaz, an adult patient in the pediatrics ward at YRMC, a kiss during his visit. Sparky tries his hand at pushing a food cart down the hall (bottom right) in the pediatrics ward. Sparky cruises a hallway at YRMC with Yuma orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ram Krishna (below).
