Ali Schmunk posted rounds of 77 on Saturday, 75 on Sunday and 73 on Monday at Desert Hills Golf Course to win the Ladies division of the Yuma City Championsh­ip. Second place went to the 2013 city champion Pam Upayokin with Shannon Mason taking third place. Gabe Plaza was the men’s division winner with rounds of 70 on Saturday, 69 on Sunday, 71 on Monday morning and 72 on Monday afternoon to win the championsh­ip by eight strokes over Andre Gianaris and Grady Bourguigni­on. The seven flight winners were Alex Munoz, Tony Zendejas, Kory Han, Mike Shug, Jon Vance Jr., G. Christophe­rs and Craig Pemberton.

Al Johnson and Steve Parrish were the top two winners in the “Pinky’s Pick” play at Mesa Del Sol Golf course on Wednesday morning. Third and fourth place were shared by Sam Samples and Pinky Throckmort­on with Nancy Holmes taking fifth place. The skin winners were Nancy Holmes, Sam Samples, Henry Browning, Bill Slade, Stephen Parrish and Al Johnson.

Daphne Stone was the low net winner with a net score of 76 in the Desert Hills Ladies play on Tuesday morning. Gloria Gentry took second with a net score of 77. The KP winners were Sue Janney and Gloria Gentry.

In the Mesa Del Sol Men’s Wednesday Twilight League play, Reggie Feller and Lynn Harvick tied Tom Norkiewicz and Robert Clayton for first place. Mike Daily and

John Hodges were the third-place finishers. Robert Gomez maintained a slim lead in the Spring Season points race. Next week’s event is a two-man, net combined total format. Play begins at 5 p.m.

On Tuesday morning at Las Barrancas Golf Course, the Men’s Silver gross score winners were Brian Healy, Troy Riechert and Larry Garrett. The net score winners were Ron Gapp, Brian Healy and Bob Selle.

Mesa Del Sol will host a Father’s Day Scramble on June 17. Competitio­n will include Parent and Junior net and gross divisions and for adults a Father and Son and a Father and Daughter division. Cost is $40 per team. Sign up in the pro shop. Entry fees must be paid by 5 p.m. on June 14.

The next Desert Hills Men’s Golf Associatio­n Tournament will be played June 17 and will be an individual pro points format. Players may contact Bruce Clark at 580-6436 or at bclark911@yahoo.com for entry or additional informatio­n.

On Wednesday at Foothills Golf Course, the Men’s Gross score winners were Bill Taylor, Ken Griffin and Michael Costello. The net score winners were Michael Costello, Jack Costello and Buddy Hartley.

The Desert Hills Pro Shop is sponsoring a “3 Dukes and a Queen” Captain’s Choice golf tournament with 10 percent of the team handicap applying on July 4 with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. Women will play the red tees and men will play the white tees. The $25 per player entry fee includes green fees, cart fees, range balls and gift cards for the winners. Players may contact the pro shop for entry or additional informatio­n. The team makeup will be one woman and three men.

On Thursday at Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s copper gross score winners were Brian Healy, George Christophe­r and Troy Riechert. The net score winners were George Christophe­r, Brian Healy and Jack Joseph.

Hank Browning posted a net score of 65 to win the Mesa Del Sol MGA Mixed individual play on Friday morning. David Doherty took second with a net score of 67 and Roland Vorrath took third with a net score of 67. The gross score winner was Robert Lauer. The skin winners were Hank Browning, Robert Lauer, Jack Parker, Bob Rehn, Sam Samples, David Doherty and Raymond “Pinky” Throckmort­on.

Linda Wies carried teammates Shirley Patterson, Jim Forbes and Bob Lauer to a scrambling first-place finish in the Moose Lodge weekly play at Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Tuesday morning with a score of 4-under-par 68.
