The renewing of dual credit agreements with local high schools is on the agenda for the Arizona Western College District Governing Board at its regular meeting tomorrow.

The five-member board will gather at 3 p.m. Monday in the Frances Morris Boardroom at the Yuma campus of the college.

The meeting will be open to the public except for an executive session during which the board will discuss AWC President Daniel P. Corr’s annual performance appraisal. Corr was selected in the spring of 2016 to replace Dr. Glenn Mayle, who retired. June 30 will mark Corr’s first year in office.

The college has intergovernmental agreements with four high school districts in Yuma and La Paz counties, including Antelope Union, Bicentennial Union, Parker Unified, Yuma Union High School District, and a memorandum of understanding with Yuma Catholic High School, for dual credit courses, in which high school students earn college credit. The board is expected to approve the pacts with each respective district or school.

Board member Maria Chavoya will update the board on the monthly As- sociation of District Governing Boards meeting; Dr. Joann Chang will present the faculty report; and Human Resources leader Kari Gardner will introduce new employees, present candidates for contractual positions and review unfilled posts.

Assistant Controller Carol Hartz will also seek board action on the pre-approved purchases of computer equipment. Hartz will also present monthly vouchers for the board’s consideration.

Vice President of Student Services Bryan Doak will give his department’s monthly update, and then the board will move into its executive session. The board will reconvene to take action on any items discussed during its executive session.

Members of the public may not participate in the meeting but may address the board during the call to the audience. The board is prohibited by the Arizona open meeting law from discussing, considering or acting on items raised during the call to the public. Individuals are limited to a five-minute presentation.

Members of the public who need an accommodation should call the executive assistant to the president, Rachel Caldwell, to make arrangements prior to the board meeting at 928344-7501 or email her at rachel.caldwell@azwestern.edu.
