Bob Rehn posted 8 quota points to win the Mesa Del Sol weekly quota play on Monday morning, while Bill Slade took second with 4.3 quota points and Garrett McKeeman took third with 3.61 quota points. Sue Morgenthal­er took fourth with 3.04 quota points and Pam Brown took fifth with 3 quota points.

Trish Steffey was the “Ace of the Month” winner in the Desert Hills Ladies play on Tuesday morning with a net score of 79. Heather Comeau was the first flight gross score winner with Connie Chapman winning second gross. Connie Chapman was also the skill shot winner. On Tuesday at Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s silver gross score winners were Troy Riechert, Brian Healy and Lee Estes. The net score winners were Lee Estes, Fred Okerholm and Jim Forbes.

Peggy Quinn teamed with Charlie Kline, John Kennedy and Randy for a scrambling nine-hole score of 3-under-par 33 to win first place in the Moose Lodge weekly play at Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Tuesday morning. Second place went to the team of Shirley Patterson, Carol Devolld, Rusty Weise and Neil Knutson with a score of 34. Diana Bird won the ladies KP on the fifth hole and Chuck Holland won the men’s KP on the fifth hole.

Ray Butler was the first-place winner in the “Pinky’s Pick” play at Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Wednesday morning. Al Johnson finished second, Raymond Pinky Throckmort­on finished third and Bill Slade finished fourth. Steve Parrish and Bob Rehn tied for fifth place. The skin winners were Steve Parrish, Al Johnson, Henry Browning, Raymond Butler Pinky Throckmort­on, Nancy Holmes and Carol Roland.

In the Mesa Del Sol Men’s Twilight League play on Wednesday afternoon, Robert Clayton and Tom Norkiewicz won the net best ball with a 27. Ernie Jimenez and Robert Vaughan tied Bill Daily and Rick Anderson at 29. This Wednesday’s format is two-man combined net total. Play begins at 5 p.m.

Bob Rehn carried Ray Butler to a first-place finish in the Mesa Del Sol mixed MGA play on Friday morning with a team best ball score of 56. Nancy Holmes and Al Johnson took second with a team best ball score of 60. Pinky Throckmort­on and Cheyenne Scholtz were the third-place finishers and Carol Roland carried Steve Parrish to a fourth-place finish with a best ball 62. The skin winners were Raymond Pinky Throckmort­on, Ray Butler, Henry Browning, Steve Parrish and Bob Rehn.

On Thursday at Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s copper gross score winners were Brian Healy, Troy Riechert and George Christophe­r. The net score winners were Jack Joeseph, Al Smith and George Christophe­r.

The Yuma County Open Golf Tournament returns Labor Day weekend. Play begins at Yuma Golf & Country Club on Saturday with the second round at Desert Hills on Sunday. The final round will be played at the Mesa Del Sol. Players will participat­e in two events at the same time with a 36-hole, two-person best ball competitio­n played during rounds one and two and a 54-hole individual stroke play competitio­n. Both events will award gross and net winners. The individual competitio­n will be flighted. Participan­ts may request their pairing for rounds one and two. Round three pairings will be by position after the first two rounds are completed. Entry forms are available at the participat­ing golf courses.
