Too much garbage going on today

-

Never in my lifetime have I seen the garbage we are seeing today. That while a lot of it is due to our being protected as a result of what we see going on in this world today. The other reason would be it’s because of the unbelievable theft which goes on.

Theft which isn’t always being carried out by homeless people and those who are hurting financially. I’m speaking of professional thieves who make it a habit of walking out of America’s stores and finding it amusing as to what they are actually able to get by with.

I recall some years back where this wealthy woman would show up daily at this Piggly Wiggly store. The manager told me that not once to his knowledge had she ever purchased anything. That was, until the day he happened to notice the lining on her mink coat hanging down. What she had been stealing all along were steaks. Where all of us are guilty of having lifted some small thing at one time or another, it’s those who have turned thievery into a profession that has got prices soaring.

In many of the items I’ve purchased, I’ve had to use utility knives to get them apart. Just think of the additional cost we as Americans have brought about in the items we purchased because of this, and the debris being hauled to our landfills. It’s outright insanity.

As for those plastic bags, I wish that they were done away with when I drive down a highway and see them hanging from a cactus or blowing across the desert. What we’ve done was to have taken everything God made good and turned it into a septic tank.

I often think of that verse which reads something to the effect, Why build up your treasures on earth for the thieves to steal, which has become a reality in our lifetime. More so today than ever. How he commanded us to take care of what he’s allowed us to enjoy, and what we’ve done to it.
