It’s back to school time for Crane students

Families, take a few moments to enjoy calm before new year starts

-

Tomorrow, the first students return to school as Crane School District reports to class.

They are the first group to go back, and in the days following, students across the Desert Southwest will follow.

Students will be excited, as will parents, and both will be a little stressed, too. Starting school means letting go of summer relaxation and getting back into a routine. Kids may be full of questions right now: “I wonder if I will like my teacher?” “Which of my friends will be in my class today?” “How much homework will we have?” “Will my new grade be hard or easy?”

Parents may have their own concerns: “I must remember to pack lunches, finish getting school supplies, and remind my child to pack their backpack!”

However, it’s important to remember that it’s the start of a new school year. It’s full of potential and hope. A new year means a new teacher — and for some, a new school — and that means a fresh start.

It’s a great time for making new friends and reconnecting with old ones.

And after a summer of rest, it’s time for young minds to get back to business, absorbing knowledge, information and experiences to help prepare them for the next level of life.

But tonight, before the school fun begins for Crane, we hope that families will hit the pause button for a few minutes, and enjoy some time together.

Go swimming, have a game night or go to the park. Have a big family dinner, and get ready for this new adventure.

There will be plenty of time throughout the school year to be stressed — homework, deadlines, class projects, etc.

Tonight, get one last night of family fun in. Then tomorrow, Crane kids, get up bright-eyed and ready for a new school year to begin!

Welcome back, everyone!
