Bob Blair posted +6.11 quota points on Monday morning to win the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course quota play. Bill Slade finished second with +2.77 quota points, Marilyn Cotter finished third with +1.34 points, Robert Lauer finished fourth and Raymond Throckmort­on finished fifth with +0.37 points.

The next Desert Hills Men’s Golf Associatio­n Tournament will be a two-person best ball gross and net format and will be played Aug. 19 with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Players may contact Bruce Clark at 928-580-6436 or the Desert Hills pro shop for entry or additional informatio­n.

Bob Lauer teamed with Al Graham, Peggy Quinn and Donna Morris for a scrambling 1-over-par 37 to tie the team of Rusty Wies, Chuck Holland, Carol Devold and Ron Harden for first place in the Moose Lodge play on Tuesday morning at Mesa Del Sol Golf Course. Charlie Kline won the men’s KP on the 13th hole and Shirley Patterson won the ladies KP on the 13th hole.

The Yuma County Open Golf Tournament returns this Labor Day weekend. Play begins at Yuma Golf & Country Club on Saturday with the second round at Desert Hills on Sunday. The final round will be played at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course. Players will participat­e in two events at the same time with a 36-hole, two-person best ball competitio­n played during rounds one and two and a 54-hole individual stroke play competitio­n. Both events will award gross and net winners. The individual competitio­n will be flighted. Participan­ts may request their pairing for rounds one and two. Round three pairings will be by position after the first two rounds are completed. Entry forms are available at the participat­ing golf courses.

Jack Parker was the top winner in the “Pinky’s Pick” play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Wednesday morning. Al Johnson, Pam Herring, Bob Rehn, Raymond Throckmort­on and Ray Butler were also winners. The skin winners were Raymond Butler, Raymond Throckmort­on, Stephen Parrish, Robert Lauer, Phyllis Mashburn, Jack Parker and Bill Beulke. On Tuesday morning at Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s silver gross score winners were Brian Healy, Mark Hammons and Larry Garrett. The net score winners were Lee Olivares, Lee Estes and Fred Okerholm.

In the Mesa Del Sol Men’s Twilight League, Gabe and Andy Rico blew away the field in a net combined total format with a 64. Jeff Buffmyer and Jerry Crump were second at 68. Buffmyer dominated the skins winning all the gross and net skins as the Rico brothers repeatedly matched each other’s birdies. Robert Vaughan and Ernie Jimenez barely lead in the summer point race. This week’s format is a two-man scramble from unusual tee positions. Play begins at 5 p.m.

On Thursday at Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s copper gross score winners were Troy Reichert, Brian Healy and John Cullen. The net score winners were Jack Joseph, Larry Nicholson and George Christophe­r.

On Thursday, the Mesa Del Sol Women’s Twilight League played a Red, White & Blue individual net format on the Front 9 with each player hitting tee shots from three red tee markers, three white tee markers and three blue tee markers. Tiffany Humer carded a net 34 to take first place, and Pam Herring came in a close second with a net 36. Closest to the pin winners were Tiffany Humer on the fifth hole and Shannon Mason on the eighth hole.

On Friday morning at Mesa Del Sol Golf Course, Raymond Throckmort­on, David Doherty and Cheyenne Schultz were the three-person team winners in the MGA mixed league play. Second place went to the team of Hank Browning, Bullet Straton and Phyllis Mashburn. The skin winners were Stephen Parrish, Raymond Throckmort­on, Al Johnson, Bob Blair, Phyllis Mashburn and Bob Rehn.
