From Aug. 6-12, the Yuma Fire Department responded to 268 emergency calls, including: • 6 general fire response Including: Fuel leaking from a vehicle, and various alarms. • 1 mutual aid Including: Called to assist Rural/Metro with emergency medical call in the county.
• 15 motor vehicle crashes
Including: 1 involving a motorcycle, 2 involving rollovers, 1 involving a fence, and 1 involving a pedestrian.
• 228 other medical emergencies (serious to minor)
Including: 20 difficulty breathing, 20 chest pains, 17 falls, 13 unconscious people, 15 seizure cases, 7 possible stroke cases, 2 intoxicated people, 2 people under the influence of drugs, 1 drug overdose, 18 people with psychiatric problems, 3 heat illness/ dehydration, 1 medical alarm, 2 kids in vehicles, 1 allergic reaction, 2 choking, 8 altered or decreased level of consciousness, 2 fevers, 7 diabetic emergencies, 8 man down calls, 2 bad headaches, 5 assaults, 4 back pain, 11 abdominal pain, 1 pregnancy related, 1 alcohol withdrawal, 2 lacerations, 1 roach poison sprayed in face, 1 child injured falling from monkey bars, and other illnesses and injuries.
