The Yuma County Open returns this Labor Day weekend. Play begins at the Yuma Golf & Country Club on Saturday with the second round at the Desert Hills Golf Course on Sunday. The final round will be played at the Mesa del Sol Golf Course.

Players will participat­e in two events at the same time with a 36-hole, two-person best-ball competitio­n played during rounds one and two and a 54-hole individual stroke play competitio­n. Both events will award gross and net winners. The individual competitio­n will be flighted. Participan­ts may request their pairing for rounds one and two. Round three pairings will be by position. Entry forms are available at the participat­ing golf courses.

Steve Parrish posted 8.62 points to win the Mesa Del Sol quota play on Monday morning. Bob Rehn took second place with 7.8 points, Garrett McKeeman took third with 3.47 points and Shannon Mason took fourth with 2.96 points.

Brian Healy, Troy Riechert and Bill Taylor were the gross score winners at the Las Barrancas Golf Course on Tuesday morning. The net score winners were Bob Selle, Wayne Fisher and Brian Healy.

Diana Bird carried teammates Al Graham, Maxine Gatti and Dale Hoch to a scrambling first-place finish in the Moose Lodge weekly play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Tuesday morning. Second place went to the team of Bill Johnson, Charlie Cine, Shirley Patterson and Roy Cavanaugh.

In the Mesa del Sol Men’s Twilight League on Wednesday afternoon, Chris Winger and Jim Wright won the net shamble with a score of 27. Paul White and Tom Norkiewicz were second with a 28. Ernie Jimenez is leading the summer point race, closely followed by Jeff Buffmyer and Jerry Crump. Next week’s format is a twoman combined net score. Play begins at 5 p.m.

Sue Janney was the firstplace winner in the Desert Hills Ladies “Two Hole Throw out” play on Tuesday morning with a net score of 63. Daphne Stone won second place, one stroke behind. The skill shot winners were Daphne Stone and Sue Janney.

Mike St Clair was the top winner in the “Pinky’s Pick” play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Wednesday morning. Garry Sletten took second, Pam Herring took third, Bob Rehn took fourth place and Bill Slade took fifth. The skin winners were Marilyn Cotter, Jack Parker, Garry Sletten, Stephen Parrish and Mike St Claire.

Tony Solina, John Cullen and George Christophe­r were the gross score winners at the Las Barrancas Golf Course on Wednesday morning. The net score winners were George Christophe­r, Wayne Fisher and Larry Nicholson.

Steve Parrish was the gross division winner of the Mesa Del Sol MGA play on Friday morning with a score of 78. Bob Rehn carded a net score of 62 to win the net division, with Frank Manson in second and Jack Parker in third. The skin winners were Mike St Claire, Sam Humer, Jack Parker, Ed McCoy, Hank Browning, Garry Sletten, Frank Manson and Cheyenne Schultz.
