YUHSD, SkoolLive partner to provide innovative, digital kiosks for students

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

Bulletin and notice boards at YUHSD are going digital.

Yuma Union High School District and SkoolLive announced a partnership earlier this month to provide five YUHSD campuses with digital, interactive kiosks, the district said in a news release.

SkoolLive kiosks have been installed in high-traffic locations on the campuses of Cibola, San Luis, Kofa, Gila Ridge and Yuma high schools. These screens will be used by the schools as a digital bulletin or notice board and will be a destination for informative, interesting and engaging content about campus life.

This state-of-the-art digital technology is provided at zero cost to the district and its schools. The technology is fully supported through advertising by local businesses. Similar to banners displayed on athletic fields, local business partners can display digital banners on the kiosks. SkoolLive advocates for the district and its high schools, managing the relationship with local businesses and sharing all revenues.

“The SkoolLive platform is another great way for students to stay informed about what is going on at their respective campuses,” YUHSD Director of Communications Eric Patten said. “They are interactive, engaging, and allow for each campus to customize content to best fit their needs.”

SkoolLive is an innovative digital, interactive kiosk system that is streamlining school-to-student communication. The SkoolLive on-campus kiosks are 60-inch, high-definition, touch-sensitive screens housed in a 7-foot-tall frame looking much like a giant iPhone. The kiosks are securely wall mounted.

Each campus had two SkoolLive kiosks installed:

• Yuma High School: Cafeteria and in the west hallway of the Palace Gym.

• Kofa High School: In the building 1 and 2 hallways

• Cibola High School: Cafeteria and outside of the bookstore

• San Luis High School: Cafeteria and across from the east doors to gym

• Gila Ridge High School: Cafeteria and the “Create” building hallway.
