Plugin All Around Arizona arrives in Yuma on Monday for electric vehicle worksop
Businesses and the general public are invited to learn more about “Electric Vehicles & Charging Infrastructure” at the sixth annual Plugin Around Arizona presentation and workshop Monday.
The free and interactive workshop will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Pivot Point Conference Center, in the Redondo Room, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
The Yuma County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event, and it’s being presented by the Tucson Electric Vehicle Association, a chapter of the nationwide, nonprofit Electric Auto Association.
Jerry Asher and his team from TEVA will discuss the organization’s goal of increasing the public’s awareness and understanding of electric vehicles and making Arizona “EV friendly.”
The workshop will address how charging stations can benefit local businesses, how to use the free Plug Share App, the future of electric vehicles and more.
John Courtis, the chamber’s executive director, pointed out that currently Yuma only has four EV stations: Yuma City Hall, Yuma Landing, Garden Oasis RV Park and the parking lot of the Pivot Point Conference Center.
The public-private partnership Plugin All Around Arizona statewide campaign is traveling to all 15 counties in Arizona, and the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to host them this year, Courtis said.
The event is open to the public and refreshments will be made available.
