2 armed robberies reported Monday
Yuma police conducting investigations
Yuma police are investigating two Monday night armed robberies.
According to information provided by Lt. Don Willits, the first robbery happened in the area of Avenue B and 17th Place, with officers responding to the scene at approximately 7:38 p.m.
The initial investigation revealed that the victim was approached by a man and a woman, who demanded his cell phone, while one of them brandished a knife. The suspects then fled the scene, heading east on 17th Place.
The male suspect is described as Hispanic about 20 to 25 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 145 pounds with long hair.
The female suspect is also described as a Hispanic between 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a heavy build and long hair.
A short time later, at ap-
proximately 8:48 p.m., officers responded to another armed robbery at the Giant gas station and convenience store, located at 895 S. 4th Avenue.
The initial investigation revealed that a man, who displayed a knife, entered the business and demanded cash from the clerk.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the store and was last seen heading east on foot.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a medium build and a blond beard or goatee.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
