In the Mesa Del Sol Winter Ladies Open Championship played last Saturday and Sunday, May Kruse and Joan Webb teamed to win the Gross Best Ball and Donna Lalonde and Lola Stone won the net best ball. In the Second Flight, Selma Cusick and Phyliss Mashburn won the gross best ball, with Sue Morgenthaler and Shirley Ritchie winning the net best ball. In the Third Flight, Tami Harmon and Joy Mueller won the gross best ball with Louise Mabey and Muriel Scott winning the net best ball. The Individual winners in the First Flight were Shannon Mason gross and Debi Mohr net; in the Second Flight, Sue Morgenthaler gross and Colleen Scott net; in the Third Flight, Natasha Heredia gross and Eunice Hoffman net.
Mesa del Sol will host a Santa Claus Two-Elf Scramble on Saturday. The event is open to teams of women, men or mixed. Cost is $35 per person. Players are required to bring one unwrapped White Elephant gift, $25 value. Tee times begin at 9 a.m. Entry forms are available in the pro shop.
Mesa del Sol will host a Holiday Skins Game on Sunday with play beginning at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $80 and includes golf, cart and range balls with $50 of the entry fee going to gross and net skins. Entry forms are available in the pro shop.
Andrew Quezada shot a gross score of 1-under-par 71 to win first place in the in the first flight of the Desert Hills Men’s Golf Association individual medal play tournament on Saturday morning. Second place in the gross division went to Ron Wood with Billy Mendenhall taking third place. Rudy Olivas was the net division winner of the first flight with a net score of 3-under-par 69 with Daryl Bugarin taking second net and Willie Zamora taking third. Tony Zendejas won the second flight gross division with Joe Gomez taking the second flight net division. The KP winners were Mario Robles, Kobe Villegas and Bobby Contreras. The skin winners were Mario Robles, Daryl Bugarin, Dustin Taulbee, Joe Gomez, Enrique Neri, Mark Regonini, Lee Olivers and Jerry Olson.
The Fortuna Del Oro Golf Course Friday Mixed League Best Ball winners were John Myers, Kim Kingscott, Sally Ganter and Donna Lindberg. Second place went to Lenard Apling, Bob Duffy and Ione Apling with Henry Nizynski, Ann Nicholls, Greg Schaaf and Kevin Burnside taking third place.
On Friday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s silver gross winners were Brian Healy, David Richelderfer and John Cullen. The net winners were George Christopher, Calvin Vogelsang and Dan Moore.
Ron Sodlink teamed with Frank Domantay, Carl Christenson and Sandy Henson for a scrambling score of 68 to tie the team of Randy Sickles, Georgann Hagness, Jim Floyd and Clark Zilgler for first place in the Moose Lodge weekly play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Tuesday morning.
On Monday at the Foothills Par 3, men’s league gross winners were Rollie Harris, Ron Thacker and David Richelderfer. The net winners were Ron Hockins, Kevin Moman and Al Smith.
