Time to choose logic over emotion

-

It has been a remarkable year, for a variety of reasons. We have seen the unexpected and the unpredictable. We have seen good and bad, but what has been good in the minds of some has been bad in the eyes of others, and vice versa. What is troubling is that many of the things we disliked about 2017 will carry over — and continue — in 2018.

There are those who refuse to accept the fact that Donald Trump is our legally elected POTUS. Instead of giving him the benefit of the doubt and seeing if he can indeed “Make America Great Again,” they spend all their time and energy opposing him and looking for ways to discredit him, up to and including foolish attempts at impeachment. That sort of nonsense will probably continue in 2018.

Then we have the strictly political aspects, and frankly they are more disgusting than the behavior of under informed people (of which there are many). Democrats vote against nearly anything/everything proposed by Republicans. Sometimes they won’t even discuss issues, and it doesn’t seem to matter if the ideas/suggestions are good for the country or not.

Just my opinion, but far too many of our citizens have lost track of those things/values that afforded this country the opportunities to become the greatest and most powerful nation in the world; they seem willing to turn more and more of what should be THEIR life choices to a government that keeps getting bigger and bigger, more inefficient, and is rife with corruption.

Lastly, we have the elitists and the globalists, sometimes called the “deep state.” They are willing to weaken our position in the world in exchange for power/control. These people work in the shadows — people like George Soros (who should be in jail) — and they exert influence over politicians by what is nothing more than buying them off, rendering them into nothing more than puppets who couldn’t care less about we the people.

Yeah, all this stuff will continue in 2018. Our responsibilities, to ourselves and to our country, is to stay as informed as we can — read, research, and do what we can to help others understand what’s really going on. Choose logic over emotion and substance over symbolism. What other choices are there? GENE LEMON Yuma
