Police identify man killed in crash with train

Yuma police have released the name of the 36-year-old man who was killed Sunday afternoon when a train collided with his vehicle.

The driver of the white 2016 Toyota Sequoia has been identified as Drew Pilkington.

Yuma police responded to Avenue 5½E and the railroad tracks at approximat­ely 1:45 p.m. in reference to a vehicle-vs.-train collision at that location.

The initial investigat­ion revealed that the Toyota Sequoia was traveling westbound on the railroad tracks when it collided with an eastbound train.

Pilkington was pronounced deed at the scene. The train crew was not injured in the collision.

This case is still under investigat­ion.
