Being humane
Students from Gowan Science Academy and H.L. Suverkrup got to walk with dogs owned by staff of the Humane Society of Yuma. The two schools raised more than $13,000 for the charity in Yuma County as part of the Be Humane education program. HSOY volunteers come to the schools and give age-appropriate animal welfare presentations. As part of the rewards, students and teachers got to walk with several animals owned by HSOY staff.
