Bill Mendenhall and Jim Harmon posted a best ball 66 to win the first flight gross division of the Desert Hills Men’s Club monthly play on Saturday morning. Second place went to Carlos Gallegos and Mario Robles at two strokes back. Tony Deanda and Ricky Rinehart were the second flight gross division winners with a best ball 75. In the first flight net division, Bobby Contreras and Bill Bort were the best ball winners with a 58, while Nathan Ott and Tom Williams won the second flight with a best ball score of 57. Bobby Contreras, Jose Campos and Mike Richardson were the KP winners.

On Feb. 1, during the Mesa Del Sol Ladies Club play, Donna Lalonde recorded a hole in one on the 129yard eighth hole using a seven iron. This was her second ace and both occurred during ladies club play. Cindy Apolzer, Dona Conzelman and Lynn Starkey witnessed the shot.

At the Desert Hills Par 3 Golf Course, Patrick Wimmer made a hole in one on the 13th hole; it was his first hole in one in seven years of playing golf. Wayne Burchett aced the seventh hole on Jan. 27 for his first hole in one in 35 years of playing golf. Sam Skramstad made a hole in one on the ninth hole on Jan. 31 for his was his first ace in 50 years of playing golf.

On Friday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s copper, gold and silver gross score winners were Berian Healy, George Christophe­r and John Cullen. The net score winners were Mark Parks, George Christophe­r and Brian Healy.

At the Fortuna De Oro Golf Course, the Friday Mixed League best ball winners were Ken Burris, Ron Siring, Lois Dickey and Evelyn Bruetzmann. Second place went to the team of Henry Nizynski, Jerry Klamp, Sally Ganter and Fay McEachern, with Kraig Knutson, Clara Trapnell, Bill Johnson and Shirley Couse taking third place.

Last Monday at the Foothills Par 3 Golf Course, the men’s league gross score winners were Butch Robideau, Dave Fritz and Rollie Harris. The net score winners were Barry Davidson, Doug Zimmerman and Frank Kehler. The team winners were Bob Hejkal, Larry Munsterman, Butch Underhill and Bob Vick.

Louise and Gayle Mabey teamed with Annie and Doug McIntosh to win the gross division of the weekly “Willies Couples” play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Sunday afternoon. First place in the net division went to the team of Eilean and Arthur Gremly and Ron Davis.

Brenda Asselstine was the first flight winner in the Mesa Del Sol “Best Nine” ladies play last Monday morning, followed by Terri Paden in second. In the second flight, Delores McMillan won and Lorraine Breault took second. In the third flight, Jo-Ann Givens won and Eunice Hoffman took second.

On Tuesday at the Foothills Par 3 Golf Course, the ladies league gross score winners were Loretta Schnieder, Lois Comeau and Dona Laidlaw. The net score winners were Suzanne Hammons, Carol Gaskins and Noreen McConnell. The team winners were Cheryl Close, June Garcia, Sandra Haun and Pat Gardener.

At the Fortuna De Oro Golf Course, the winners of the Tuesday men’s league play were Rheal Hery, Jimmy Stewart, Jerry Morden and Jerry Klamp. Second place went to the team of Henry Nizynski, Gwyn Hughes, Ken Wells and Bob Snowball, and third place went to Pierre Guilbault, Kevin New, Kevin Burnside and Brent Campbell.

Randy Sickles teamed with John Scott, Mel Wedrick and Jerry Aaron for a scrambling 4-under 68 to win the weekly Moose Lodge #1627 play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course last Tuesday morning. Two teams tied for second place at 3-under: Randy Light, Vern Cysenski, Greg Edwards and Gary Weil, and Dale Hoch, Bob Peterson, Shirley Shipley and John Wojtowicz.

Last Tuesday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s gross score silver winners were John Cullen, Larry Garrett and Barry Neighbour. The net score winners were Don Fellows, John Cullen and Larry Garrett. The team winners were George Christophe­r, Howie Branch, Hubert Gartner and Jerry Jensen.

At the Fortuna De Oro Golf Course on Wednesday morning, the winners of the couples league play were Don Anderson, Lorna Anderson, Howard Trapnell and Clara Trapnell. Second place went to the team of Gerry Morrow, Jane Morrow, Keith Fortie and Becky Fortie, while Larry Smith, Elaine Farris, Everett Sanville and Jeannett Raderburg took third.

Gerald Larrabee was the top winner in the weekly “Pinky’s Pick” mixed play on Wednesday morning at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course with second place going to Wayne Webb. The three remaining winners were Joyce Martin, Garry Sletten and Bill Beulke. The skin winners were Gerald Larrabee, Wayne Webb, Mike Mikkola, Bill Beulke and Bob Blair.

On Wednesday at the Foothills Executive Golf Course, the men’s gross score winners were Frank Russell, Butch Robideau, Butch Stone. The net winners were Butch Stone, Dan Sutherland and Butch Robideau. The team winners were Rex Woodhouse, Pat Dallabetta, Tom Gsell and Paul White.

Ed McCoy, Jim Mitchell, Ray Butler and Jerry Olson posted 81 pro power points to win first place in the “Krogman Follies” play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Wednesday morning. The team of Marty Schwab, Ron Sterler, Terry Matthews and Len Berube won a team skin on the 15th hole.

On Wednesday at the Las Las Barrancas Golf Course, the ladies league gross score winners were Loretta Schnieder, Dorothy Gartner and Dawn Diamond. The net score winners were Dawn Diamond, Marga Woltman and Chris Tastad. The team winners were Rita Gravelle, Sharon Burkin, Marylin Denny and Patsy Mosely.

At the Fortuna De Oro Golf Course on Thursday, the Ladies League play winners were Brenda Morden, Bev Moro, Teresa Gordon and Joann Maguire. Second place went to Darlene Barber, Cathy McArthur, Karen Pederson and Lorna, while Joyce Fehr, Dorothy Crow, Lois Dickey and Winnie Gellner took third.

On Thursday at the Foothills Executive Golf Course the ladies gross score winners were Loretta Schieder, Dawn Diamond and Brenda Willick. The net score winners were Dawn Diamond, Bev Booth and Valerie Gleave. The team winners were Laurie Gsell, Florence Haun, Sandra Haun and Vickie Steelman.

The Annual Men’s Senior City Championsh­ip will be played at the Desert Hills Golf Course Feb 24-25 with tee times starting at 8 a.m. on the 24th and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. the 25th. The $60 entry fee must be paid by Feb. 21 and this field is limited to the first 80 paid entries. Players may contact the pro shop for entry or additional informatio­n.

On Thursday at Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s copper gross score winners were Frank Russell, Hubert Gartner and Rod Lenuick. The net score winners were Ed Gish, Jerry Denny and Fred Okerholm. The team winners were Larry Garrett, B J McKay, Larry Villa and Doug Mendel.

Trish Steffey and Judy Hill were the front nine winners in the Desert Hills Ladies “Nassau Game” on Tuesday morning. Karen Hitchens and Judy Hill were the winners on the back nine. The low gross score of the day went to Judy Hill, while Karen Hitchens and Mary Schueler tied for low net score of the day. The KP and “Honey Pot” winners were Wendy Cyrenne, Bette McGrath, Kathy Lauer and Judy Hill.

Leonard Berube, Jerry Olson, Art Brekkas and Raymond “Pinky” Throckmort­on carded 84 pro power points to win first place in the weekly Can/Am play on Feb. 5 at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course. Tom Mozley, Bill Griffith, Gerald Larrabee and Cliff Richards won second place with 79 points. Gerry Larrabee won the KP on the fifth hole and David Burtt won the KP on the 17th hole. The seven Deuce pot winners were Ron Berault, Bill Pearson, Gerry Larrabee, Garry Davidson, Dale Smith, Ray Butler and Mike Mikkola.

The four gross score flight winners in the Mesa Del Sol MGA play on Friday morning were Toney Kossey, Marty Schwab, Jerry Olson and Jack Henson. The four net flight winners were Sam Boyd, Gayle Mabey, Larry Kossey and Bob Blair.
