Gun laws not the answer in school shootings

-

Another tragic shooting and yet another call by the left leaning liberals for, you guessed it, more gun laws. Let’s examine a couple facts here please.

1. Is there or is there not a law on the books that makes taking a gun to school and shooting another person illegal? There is.

2. Is there or is there not a law on the books that makes killing someone illegal? There is.

To simplify it for those who demand more laws, there are laws on the books that make it illegal to do what that evil young man did in Florida. Even simpler for you liberals, taking a gun to school, shooting students and killing people is a NO-NO.

If someone is hell-bent of taking a gun to school and killing people, do you honestly believe another law will stop them? I would ask each and every person crying for more gun laws to please detail that law here and now.

It has been said that you cannot legislate morality. I believe where the ball has been dropped is in the breakdown of the family unit. It’s time to stop bringing babies into a one-parent home and it is time for that child’s mother and father to take responsibility and raise that youngster. It does not take a village, it takes mom and dad…

If you think tough gun laws really work, ask the people of Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., Baltimore and New Orleans. Go ahead, ask them or Google the homicide rates in those cities and then Google toughest gun laws in America. GREGORY GARDNER Yuma
