Costly errors ruin region opener for Rams

The Antelope baseball team cursed itself with a series of fielding errors early in a game on Monday night and couldn’t dig out of that hole later against Parker.

The Rams fell 8-4 after falling behind 8-0 in the first three innings of the game.

Antelope (5-3, 2-1) gave up four runs in the second and three more in the third inning to fall behind 7-0. At one point Parker led 8-0 before the Rams could really even get into the game offensively.

Brady Jameson started on the mound for the Rams and he recorded the loss. He pitched 2 1/3 innings where he gave up eight runs (2 earned). He also had four strikeouts.

Errors in the field extended a couple of Jameson’s innings making life a little harder, and the base runners began to pile up. He was replaced by Bobby Irvin, who pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings in relief.

Despite the mistakes in the field Jaime is still playing around with some of his lineups and seeing which players could work in certain spots.
