For the week of March 4-10, the Yuma Fire Department responded to 312 emergency calls for service:
7 General Fire Response
• Including: A smell of gas in a building, natural gas leaking from a meter, a trailer fire in a backyard, an alley fire, a fire started in a yard by a 9 year old child, and various alarms
1 Mutual Aid
• Including: Called to assist Rural Metro with a motor vehicle crash in the county
• 20 Motor Vehicle Crashes
Including: 1 involving a motorcycle, 1 involving a golf cart and a small child, 2 involving 3 vehicles, and 1 involving a rollover
• 251 Other Medical Emergencies (serious to minor)
Including: 26 for difficulty breathing, 36 for chest pain, 33 for falls, 12 for unconscious people, 9 seizure cases, 5 possible stroke cases, 2 for intoxicated persons, 1 for a person under the influence of drugs, 3 drug overdoses, 10 for people with psychiatric problems, 1 for dehydration, 6 for medical alarms, 1 for children locked in a vehicle, 2 for allergic reactions, 2 for choking, 13 for altered or decreased level of consciousness, 1 for fever, 2 for broken bones, 3 for diabetic emergencies, 1 for a dog bite, 5 for man down calls, 1 for uncontrolled bleeding, 3 for bad headaches, 1 for a gunshot wound, 7 for assaults, 6 for back pain, 15 for abdominal pain, 1 pregnancy related, 1 for a deceased person, 1 for lacerations, 1 for a 10 year old stuck in a jungle gym, 1 for a 10 year old who fell off a bicycle, and other illnesses and injuries
