Antelope boys tennis beats San Luis

The Antelope boys tennis team picked up a win over a 6A/Division I school Monday, beating San Luis 7-2.

The Rams (4-1 AIA) won four of six singles matches and all three doubles matches. Their singles winners were: No. 1 Alex Jimenez, No. 2 Isaac Filerio, No. 3 Kristopher Reyes and No. 4 Alberto Espinoza.

Picking up singles victories for the Sidewinder­s (1-3) were No. 5 Ricardo Angulo and No. 6 Abram Rojas.

The Sidewinder­s (1-3 AIA) won four of six singles matches (one via forfeit) and two of three doubles matches (one via forfeit) to get their first victory of the season. Their singles winners were: No. 2 Bianca Lopez, No. 4 Anney Romo and No. 5 Karina Diaz.

Antelope’s Diana Espinoza won the No. 1 singles match and teamed with Julie Reyes to win the No. 1 doubles match; No. 3 singles player Abi Conde provided the other win for the Rams (1-5).

PREP BASEBALL Kingman Academy 6, Antelope 5

The Rams (5-5 AIA, 2-2 region) gave up two unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth to suffer their fifth straight regular-season loss since starting 5-0.

Brandon Jaime (2-for-3, 2 RBIs), Bronson Irvin (2for-3, RBI) and Brady Jameson (2-for-4, RBI) were the team’s top offensive performers.

PREP SOFTBALL Kingman Academy 13, Antelope 0

Michelle Gutierrez went 2-for-2 for the Rams (7-3 AIA, 1-3 region) in the defeat, which snapped the team’s four-game winning streak.
