Yuma P&Z to hold 5 public hearings
Cases include final plats, requests for permits, rezoning
The Yuma Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Monday to hold public hearings for one new case and four cases that have been continued from February. The meeting will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1 City Plaza.
The new case is a request by Dahl, Robins and Associates, on behalf of Saguaro Desert Development, for approval of the final plat for Saguaro Unit No. 3 Subdivision, located at the northwest corner of South Avenue 8E and East 44th Street. The 29.34-acre subdivision will be divided into 136 residential lots, ranging in size from about 6,234 square feet to 9,923 square feet.
The first continued case is a request by Westar Plumbing Services for a conditional use permit to allow specific commercial uses in the Light Industrial District. The property is located at 780 E. 39th Place.
In 2016, the plumbing contractor purchased and converted the property from general office space to a warehousing and distribution facility. The contractor would now like to lease space within the building for several commercial uses.
Another case involves a request by Bob Woodman, on behalf of Dames Trust 9-21-12, to rezone 10 acres from the Agriculture District to the Light Industrial District. The property is located on the southeast corner of the East 34th Street alignment and the B 3.7 Canal Lateral.
Woodman, on behalf of Woodman Investment Properties and Woodman Family Citrus, is also requesting rezoning of about 19.5 acres from the Agriculture District to the Light Industrial District for properties located at the northeast corner of East 36th Street alignment and B 3.7 Canal Lateral and 3450 S. Avenue 5E.
Colvin Engineering, on behalf of Terraces Business Park AZ, is seeking approval of the final plat for the Terraces West Subdivision, which proposes dividing the property into 15 residential lots ranging in size from 10,242 square feet to 40,586 square feet. The property is located north of Interstate 8, west of the Terraces Two at the View Subdivision.
