Colo. River Tea Party hosting candidate meet-and-greet
Event includes presentation by filmmaker, blogger Trevor Loudon
U.S. Senate candidate Kelli Ward, state Rep. Darin Mitchell and other candidates are expected to attend a meet-and-greet the Colorado River Tea Party is hosting Saturday, along with a presentation by filmmaker and blogger Trevor Loudon.
Newly appointed District 13 legislators and candidates Rep. Tim Dunn, RYuma, and Sen. Sine Kerr, R-Buckeye, are also on the list for the event as of Wednesday evening.
It is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 19, 2575 S. Virginia Drive, in Yuma. Admission is free, and donations to the Tea Party will be accepted.
Three more LD13 candidates are also on the roster: Brent Backus, Anthony Gier and Trey Terry. This district includes southern and eastern Yuma, the Foothills, Wellton and other parts of Yuma County to the east and north.
And two Republicans seeking the Congressional District 3 seat now held by Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalva are coming as well: Sergio Arellano and Edna San Miguel. The territory for CD3 includes western Yuma, Somerton and San Luis.
The guest speaker maintains the New Zeal conservative blog at trevorloudon.com and has produced books and documentaries over 30 years, including the 2016 film “The Enemies Within” and two 2011 selfpublished books, “Barack Obama and the Enemies Within” and “The Enemies Within: Communists, Socialists and Progressives in the U.S. Congress.”
