Fuego dance studio, iNerd, Taco Shelle set up businesses

A slew of grand openings:

-

One studio closes, another opens! The Smooth Rhythm Dance Studio recently closed, but Yuma dance lovers now have another option. Fuego Dance Studio, 316 S. Main St., celebrated its grand opening Friday with dance performances, food, drinks and door prizes.

Owner April Muñoz teaches Latin dancing, which includes salsa, bachata, merengue and cumbia. When she first started teaching dance eight years ago, classes started out at the Yuma Art Center and later “hopped around from place to place.” She’s happy to finally have her own studio, which is downtown in the old Artsy Fartsy Studio.

The studio is open to the public and walk-ins are encouraged. They will start dancing the same night.

“It’s very fun and energetic,” Muñoz said. “It’s a place where people can come together and meet new people. It’s not just about learning to dance.”

For years members have been putting on a lot of public performances, such as Cinco de Mayo and Tunes & Tacos Festival.

The company started in 2007 as “more and more people converted themselves to the iPhone bandwagon and there wasn’t anyone to do any repairs locally for them.” The goal of the company is to offer “fast, reliable and guaranteed service at a low cost price.”

Mobile, in-house and pickup/drop-off service is available. The company also buys old or broken Apple products.

To reach iNerd, call (928) 271-0108. *** While some business are opening, one longtime Yuma store will close its doors this week. The last day of business for Toys “R” Us will be on Thursday. To mark the day, Geoffrey the Giraffe, the official “spokesanimal” for the brand, will visit the store.
