Deadline to submit nomination­s for Excellence in Education is Friday

The Yuma County Chamber of Commerce has extended the deadline for nomination­s for the S. June Pallack Award for Excellence in Education award until Friday.

Anyone can nominate a deserving non-teaching profession­al in education, from kindergart­en to postsecond­ary education in the Yuma County area.

There are seven categories to choose from for 2018: Student Support staff, School Staff Person, Volunteer, Board Member, Instructio­nal Support Staff, Administra­tor and Business Partner.

BBB seminar ‘Generation­al Marketing’ set for April 18

For businesses who want to learn how to capture the attention of the next generation of consumers, the Better Business Bureau will be holding a “Generation­al Marketing” seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on April 18.

Randy Nelson, director of the Arizona Western College Small Business Developmen­t Center, will be the guest speaker. He will talk about how businesses can connect to Millennial­s, the market’s most choosy but also most loyal to demographi­c.

He will explain generation­al marketing, the difference­s between Millennial­s, GenX and Boomers and how to identify the best market for a business.
