New student orientation set for Tuesday at Cibola

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

Cibola High School will hold an orientation on Tuesday, April 17, for eighth-graders who will attend the school for the 201819 school year.

School tours will begin at 5 p.m. with the general program beginning at 6 p.m. in the Raider Gymnasium.

“The faculty and administration of CHS are excited at the prospect of meeting our future Raiders — the Cibola Class of 2022!” CHS Assistant Principal Andrew Stiger said.

This orientation is for both students and parents. Teachers and students from extracurricular programs, clubs, and sports will be present to offer assistance and explain various student opportunities on campus. The general program will last approximately one hour, but the faculty and staff will be available in the cafeteria after the presentation to answer additional questions. Academic elective programs, athletic teams, and clubs will have displays and information available in the cafeteria. Members of the award-winning Cibola Student Council, student clubs, AVID, and student-athletes will be in attendance to show students and parents around campus starting at 5 p.m. The Cibola band and spiritline will also be on hand.

“We firmly believe that our parents assist in making our school very effective,” Stiger said. “Their participation in their student’s high school education is very important. We hope that our parents will allow Cibola to begin helping their students by attending this orientation.”
