County board may reverse zoning approvals
Meeting set for Monday in Yuma
The Yuma County Board of Supervisors will hold zoning reversion hearings for three properties at its Monday meeting, potentially reversing zoning approvals given to owners who have not met development guidelines.
The three parcels at issue are at the northwest corner of Avenue 36E and County 11th Street in Wellton, the northwest corner of Interstate 8 and Avenue 16E near Yuma, and on the southeast corner of Avenue D and County 11 1/2 Street, also near Yuma.
The meeting will begin 9 a.m. Monday in the Board of Supervisors’ auditorium at 198 S. Main St., Yuma. Also on the agenda:
• Approval of the final plat for Estrella at Mesa Del Sol Unit 4 subdivision, consisting of 143 mediumdensity residential lots on 41.5 acres at the southwest corner of Camino del Sol and County 10th Street.
• A public hearing and vote about proposed revisions to fees for rabies licensing, boarding and impound fees charged by the county Public Health Department. Changes include lowering the age at which dog owners must obtain a rabies certificate for their dogs, from four to three months, and eliminating a schedule of prorated fees for first-time licenses.
• An update and possible action regarding testing and improvements at 197 S. Main St.
• A presentation from Sgt. Eric Egan, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Yuma Lodge, about the Fallen Officer Monument Project.
• A presentation about the functions and services of the county Environmental Health Division.
• A closed executive session on County Administrator Susan Thorpe’s annual performance review.
The meeting will be broadcast on the county’s cable channel, Yuma77, and webcast and available for later viewing at www. yumacountyaz.gov and the Yuma County Government Facebook page. Spanish subtitles are available for rebroadcasts.
