• The National Geography Bee will be held in Washington D.C. next week and will be televised on National Geographic. It shows how smart kids really are. In the West Coast finals held last week in Los Angeles, they asked which country has 40 names for snow and every kid answered Colombia.

• President Trump’s former doctor Dr. Harold Bornstein said three Trump security guys raided his office a year ago and took Trump’s medical records. The doctor looks like an 80-year-old hippie. Judging by his looks I’m guessing it wasn’t the first time his office had been raided by the feds.

• Bornstein speculated that President Trump ordered his medical records seized from his office last year after it leaked that Trump takes a drug for hair growth. The drug is Propecia. The label warns that possible side effects include dizziness, dry mouth, and impeachment.

It is a pleasure to share some of the good news emanating from our business community. The Yuma County Chamber of Commerce honored Helping Hands of Yuma by selecting us as its beneficiary at the recent Chamber mixer at Hot Rods & Beer. We asked for, and received, donations of bottled water, hydration drinks and nutritional beverages. These items are vital to our efforts to keep the elderly safe in their homes this summer. The Summer Senior Comfort Campaign runs from May through September. We check on the elderly, to make sure that they are staying healthy, eating properly and keeping cool. The service is free, and runs on volunteer labor and compassion.

Yuma’s low-income elderly must make tough choices during our brutal summer months. Do they fill a prescription, buy food, or run the air conditioner? We make sure that they have information about resources available to low-income seniors. They are welcome to visit with us at our office, to stay cool and hydrated. Or Helping Hands volunteers take hydration and nutritional beverages to the elderly at home.

None of this would be possible without the generosity of our Chamber members. Thanks to all who donated vital supplies, and to Hot Rods & Beer for hosting this opportunity. We remain dedicated to our mission to provide FREE services to local seniors, so that they may live independently in their own homes. Call (928) 305-9974 to make a donation, request services, or for more information. Thank you Dr. Adam Ahmadi and your wonderful staff. I can see again. Thank you, Yuma Regional Medical Center.

I attended the Freedom Baptist Church Saturday event for the Gordon Mote gospel concert. This gentleman has been playing piano since he was 3 years old.

Hope if they ever get to come back to Yuma, more families will come and attend. It was a free concert.

Teenagers love music and they could have seen what one man did with his life. Something a person never forgets.

Thank you, Freedom Baptist Church, for allowing us to attend a

Recently, I was in YRMC and transferred to the Yuma Rehab Hospital. The entire staff was caring and considerate and the food was excellent.

I wish to extend my appreciation to them so everyone In Yuma knows what a great facility that we have here in Yuma. Kudos to the entire medical staff including the therapists. I have been there several times and each time they have been great. Thank you, one and all at Yuma Rehab Hospital. I might as well add that YRMC is a great hospital too.
