The pleasure of M & M in May
Sweetly remembered are the little round morsels of pleasant, creamy chocolate wrapped in colorful jackets of sugary, crunchy candy. Unfortunately, the last piece of pleasantness in the bag was a reality. A renewal of opportunity for tasty pleasure was possible with the provision of another bag, by the generosity of a benefactor.
The occasion of pleasant memory and appreciation is available in May. Mother’s Day is observed on the second Sunday. Memorial Day is Monday the 28th. These significant days afford annual recurrent opportunity to enjoy lovely memories and present fulfillment. Celebrating mothers and military is honorable and beneficial. Appreciation for those who “watch over” us and “care enough” to die for our country establishes value for our past and future.
Being a mother may not claim the honor of building Notre Dame Cathedral. She does not need to. She provides something more significant than any cathedral … a dwelling place for an awesome creation, a baby. Only mothers create what has the potential of a human life.
Mothers can — The Rev. Paul Killingsworth serves as pastor at Yuma First Assembly.
