Sheriff Joe’s ideas worth implementing

-

Re: the prison riot. Things like this prove to me that Sheriff Joe had the right idea. They should have nothing more than our servicemen have when they are deployed in the desert. Also they should not have a laundry to do their clothes. When I was in boot camp in the Navy , the Navy gave you a bucket, a brush and a concrete table to wash your clothes on, and then you tied them to a rope with tie ties and pulled them up in the air to dry. Why should these criminals have an air conditioned place to live and somebody to do their laundry?

If I had anything to do with the prison system I would use Sheriff’s Joe’s ideas and they would have a tent to live in and they would wash their own clothes on a concrete table. That way if they wanted to riot they could burn their tents down and destroy their mattress and I would make it very clear to them that any items destroyed in the riot would not be replaced. If they want to destroy their own living quarters, then they could do without. This idea that they can act like idiots and we as taxpayers will rebuild all that they destroyed at our expense ought to stop.

I would make it VERY PLAIN to them that when they got sent to prison they would no longer enjoy the life that they had before. It would be a bare bones existence with no extras and no television.

After they severed their sentence you can bet that they would not ever want to go back to prison again.

On another note, why is it that none of the officers on duty did not know what to do? ROBERT GERBERICK Yuma
