Trailer and truck damaged in fire
A vehicle and trailer were severely damaged in a fire that occurred in a local trailer park in the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to the Rural Metro Fire Department’s news release, at around 12:10 a.m., RMFD was dispatched to a truck on fire endangering a trailer at Sierra Vista Pacific Trailer Park, 5201 U.S. 95.
“The first fire truck arrived on scene and found a truck fully involved and the trailer about ten percent on fire,” said RMFD spokesperson Charlie McMurdie. “The crew quickly went to work on the vehicle fire while the second engine crew began attack on the trailer fire putting out the fire but not before it did damage to the rest of the trailer.”
McMurdie added that the fire was knocked down shortly after firefighters began battling it and the crews went to work looking for hot spots.
She said that there were people at home at the time of the fire. The occupants as well as their dog, she noted, were not harmed and no injuries were reported. The Red Cross was called to assist them.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
