The governing board of Arizona Western College will wrap up its fiscal year June 30, and action items in the agenda for Monday’s meeting reflect that closure.

The board, formally known as the Yuma-La Paz Community College District, meets at 9 a.m. Monday at the Frances Morris Boardroom in the 3C Building on the Yuma campus.

The regular meeting will be followed by an executive session at 10:30 a.m. to review AWC President Daniel P. Corr’s annual performance appraisal. The board plans to move into open session to take action on any recommendations made during the closed session.

Faculty Senate President Dr. Matthew Smith will address the governing board during its regular session before the summer intersession, as the board does not normally meet during the month of July. The board’s next regular meeting is set for Aug. 20.

In preparation for that summer break, the board will be asked by Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services Shahrooz Roohparvar to pre-approve purchases and repairs for July along with the vouchers for June.

Dr. Linda Elliott-Nelson, vice president for learning services, will ask the board to consider approving curriculum for occupational certificates.

Members of the president’s cabinet will give reports from their areas, including Vice President for Student Services Bryan Doak. Alison McLallen and Sarah Herman will give the public relations and marketing report on behalf of Vice President of Advancement Lori Stofft.

The board will hear from other employee and student representatives, including Biridiana L. Martinez of the Classified Employee Association and Dean of Students MaryKay Harton on behalf of the Student Government Association.

Agenda items are available for public inspection at the Office of the President in the 3C Building 24 hours in advance of the meeting time with the exception of items for which an executive session may be called (or for which a session is slated). Members of the public who need an accommodation to facilitate observing or hearing a meeting should contact the Office of the President at (928) 344-7501 as soon as possible to make arrangements.
