Deanna Moser

Deanna Moser, library assistant II for the Wellton Library, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s employee of the month for July. She received a mounted certificat­e, a name plate in the book of her choice, an employee of the month pin and her photo will be hung at the Wellton branch during the month.

Alyssa Gonzalez

Alyssa Gonzalez, of Somerton, has recently graduated from Arizona Connection­s Academy, an online school serving students statewide in kindergart­en through 12th grade, as part of the class of 2018. The class collective­ly earned about $300,000 in scholarshi­ps.

Gonzalez plans to attend a four-year university.

Gabriel A. Pennington

U.S. Air Force Airman Gabriel A. Pennington has recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San AntonioLac­kland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Pennington, the son of Brian Pennington of Yuma, and Mary Paris of New Kensington, Pa., is a 2017 graduate of Cibola High School.

Iris Heredia

Iris Heredia receives national recognitio­n for her delivery of superior hospice care during National Nursing Assistants Week, June 14-21.

The Compassus program serving Yuma and the surroundin­g areas recognizes Heredia, who has been a nursing assistant with Compassus since 2016. She is recognized for her dedication to providing the highest level of quality hospice care for patients and their families.
