Participants of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Experience Week were put through a three-hour police academy Friday inside the Public Safety Institute at the Arizona Western College main campus. The academy included time in the VirTra simulator, performing interactive tactical firearm training. Earlier in the week, participants in the CTE Experience received instruction in profiling techniques utilized by law enforcement to determine when someone is lying to you; received instruction in woodworking and how to properly sculpt a masterpiece with a carving tool and their hands; received instruction in CPR techniques for saving the lives of adults, adolescents and infants, with participants receiving CPR certificates; and received instruction in the benefits of massage and how it can affect you.
