Laura Joy Welter Sweet

January 13, 1947 - July 19, 2018

Laura Joy Welter Sweet, went to be with her savior Jesus, on July 19, 2018.

Laura was born in Yuma, Arizona on January 13, 1947. She grew up in Yuma in The Stanley-Welter Home at 444 3rd Ave and graduated from Yuma High in 1965. She was a Yuma County employee from 1969 until her retirement in 2001. After retirement she was an Assistance League of Yuma Volunteer.

Laura was preceded in death by her mom Carmen Elaine Stanley Welter, her dad Mark Kermit Welter, brother Mark Stanley Welter, husband Gary Sweet, and many, grandparents, aunts uncles and cousins.

Laura is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Louise Welter, cousins Douglas Snyder (Caryl) Stanley, John Henry (Margaret) Fritz Jr., Jeffrey Reginald (Linda) Fritz, Julie (Dale) Fritz Finberg, Jan Fritz, Billy Odett, nephew Mark Jeffrey Welter and his, sons Mark Gilbert and Jeffrey Tanner, niece Melissa (Pat) Van Horn and children Ryan Patrick (Kristina), and twins Chelsea Nicole and Sarah Elizabeth and step children Brandon (Jackie) and Heather Sweet and their children and many other cousins and friends.

Services will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (14th Ave & 16th Street) on Friday July 27, 2018 at 11:30 AM. Reception will be announced, Donations Assistance League of Yuma/ St Paul’s Episcopal Church.
