Ballet students

Arizona Classical Ballet students were awarded Ballet Arizona’s prestigiou­s summer intensive program.

These dancers, Kaitlyn Ball, age 18; Maggie Golding, age 17; Cynthia Fabian, age 14, auditioned and all were accepted. Christophe­r Jobe, age 14, auditioned and received a scholarshi­p.

Two of the dancers are interested in pursuing a profession­al career.

Mary Beth Schleicher

Mary Beth Schleicher, a graduate of Cibola High School, has graduated with an English degree with honors with a minor in psychology.

Her education began at AmeriSchoo­ls Academy, where a love of learning and the belief that hard work would help her achieve her dreams. At Crane Middle School, she was taught to appreciate literature. At Cibola High School, she learned to love and appreciate the technical side of writing and to analyze English to see the more complex side of things.

Schleicher, who studied Japanese, was president of the kendo club and hopes to one day visit Japan.

Maria Christina Hoffman

Maria Christina Hoffman, of Yuma, has graduated with a bachelor of science degree in clinical lab science from East Carolina University during spring commenceme­nt exercises in Greenville, N.C.
