LOS ANGELES — A power outage at Dodger Stadium on Monday shut down the stadium lights and caused a 23-minute delay before the second inning of a game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers said the official cause of the outage was “a disruption in the city’s power feed to the facility.”

A promotional piece being narrated by famed broadcaster Vin Scully was playing on the video board before it halted abruptly. All stadium lights went dark at 7:44 p.m. The Dodgers were on the field but returned to their dugout.

The Brewers led 1-0 after one inning at the time of the delay and went on to win 5-2. A near capacity crowd was in attendance for the game, which was the home debut of newly-acquired Dodgers infielder Manny Machado.

Ozuna homers in 10th as Cardinals top Rockies

ST. LOUIS — Marcell Ozuna had always dreamed of hitting a game-ending homer, and finally did it.

Ozuna got the his first of his career in the 10th inning Monday night, and the St. Louis Cardinals snapped Colorado’s four-game win streak with a 5-4 victory over the Rockies.

“I’ve been working on it so many times,” Ozuna said. “I was in that situation before and I couldn’t get it. Today was the time.”

Ozuna connected against Jake McGee (1-4), sending a one-out drive deep to center for his 13th homer of the season. The slugger also extended his homer streak to three straight games.

“Missed my spot over the middle of the plate. He was looking fastball too,” McGee said. “Got to be a little more careful especially with a home run hitter like that.”

Dakota Hudson (1-0) got three outs for his first career win.

St. Louis has won eight games on game-ending hits this season and has won three of its last four contests.

Colorado took a 4-0 lead when Nolan Arenado hit his fifth career grand slam in the fifth inning off Daniel Poncedeleon, who replaced Carlos Martinez when the right-hander departed with a mild shoulder strain with two outs.

Arenado went deep for the third time in four games. The drive to center gave him 79 RBIs, one behind Cincinnati’s Eugenio Suarez for the National League lead.

Martinez was activated from the disabled list prior to the game. He missed his previous start with a right oblique strain.

“He just said my shoulder is sore but I can still go,” Cardinals interim manager Mike Shildt said. “The velocity was down a little bit. We just looked at it and went out and the rest was what it was.”

Colorado left-hander Tyler Anderson allowed four runs in six-plus innings. He was replaced by Scott Oberg after he walked the first three batters in the seventh.

“That ended up costing us the game so it’s obviously pretty bad,” Anderson said. “I just felt like I didn’t know where the ball was going there.”

PHOENIX — Shin-Soo Choo homered twice and had four RBIs, helping the Texas Rangers rally after a power outage delay to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-5 Monday night.

Choo hit a three-run homer off Robbie Ray in the fifth inning and added a solo shot against Matt Andriese (0-1) in the eighth for his sixth 20-homer season.

A thunderstorm outside Chase Field caused some of the lights to go out in the sixth and, after a 21-minute delay, pinch-hitter Willie Calhoun lined a run-scoring single to right to put the Rangers up 5-4.

Eddie Butler (2-1) got the final out in the sixth inning and Rougned Odor hit a solo homer off Andriese in the seventh for the goahead run.

Texas has won four straight since losing five of nine.

Steven Souza hit a threerun homer and Eduardo Escobar had two RBIs in his first game at Chase Field since being traded from Minnesota to Arizona.

Ray worked through some traffic in the first four innings before running into trouble in the fifth. The left-hander walked two and Choo lifted his 19th homer over the wall in left for a three-run shot.

The Diamondbacks answered in the bottom half with the help of a throwing error by third baseman Adrian Beltre, going up 4-3 when Souza bounced a three-run homer off the top of the wall in left.

Ray was lifted after a oneout walk in the sixth inning and Texas went ahead 4-3 on Robinson Chirinos’ runscoring single against Yoshihisa Hirano.

Ray allowed four runs on three hits and struck out six with four walks.

TRAINER’S TABLE

Diamondbacks: OF David Peralta was held out of the starting lineup after exiting Sunday’s game against San Diego in the sixth inning with right shoulder tightness.

Texas right-hander Bartolo Colon will make his fifth attempt at becoming MLB’s all-time wins leader among Latin American pitchers when he faces Arizona right-hander Zack Godley. The 45-year-old Colon is tied with Nicaraguan Dennis Martinez with 245 wins.
