Foothills has new insurance agency
Hotel, gas station, shopping complex coming to San Luis
Farmers Insurance agent Juan A. Moreno is now doing business in the Foothills. On July 9, he opened an office at 11242 S. Foothills Blvd., Suite 8, in the Foothills Village shopping center.
Moreno’s office is the only Farmers agency in the Foothills. He wanted his own business and is excited to be the youngest agent in town with his own agency. He is 28 years old and was born and raised in Yuma.
He specializes in auto, home, life and business policies. He has a lot of experience in the insurance industry, having worked for a competitor for many years.
Although he’s an agent, Moreno wants to be known more as an insurance or financial consultant. “My approach as an agent is to make sure I educate my customers so they know exactly what they’re purchasing,” he explained.
Moreno can be reached at 928-271-5055 (office) or 928-246-7696 (cell). *** KUAV 105.1 FM went on the air earlier this year to promote “local Native culture and arts.” The low-power radio station is based in neighboring Winterhaven, Calif., and is a nonprofit managed by Ah Mut Pipa Foundation, which is also a nonprofit organization operating on the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation since 1992.
KUAC airs news/talk, information, eclectic and Native American music and local programming primarily in English and with some Quechan language. “Kuav” in Quechan means “Everyone: Listen.” It also includes programming from NPR and other affiliates.
