The Yuma Foothill Rotary’s 3rd Annual Scramble Golf Tournament will be played at Mesa Del Sol on Sept. 29. The format is a four-person scramble. The cost is $60 per player. Gabe Plaza shot a gross score of 3-under-par 69 to win first place in the Desert Hills Men’s Golf Associatio­n medal play tournament on Sept. 8. Second place went to Mark Pancrazi with a 2-under 70 and third place went to Gabe Rico with a 1-under 71. Jose Rodriguez carded a net score of 65 to win the net division, followed by Frank Ybarra in second with a 66. Yuma Cibrian and Bill Bort tied for third-place net with scores of 67. The skin winners were Ed Alupay, Gabe Plaza, Jeff Buffmeyer, Don Scarff, Todd Birney and John Pflueger. The KP winners were Inwan Beak, John Tate, Mark Pancrazi and Jeff Buffmeyer.

The next DHMGA monthly tournament will be played at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Oct. 6 and the format will be a blind draw for partners for the two-man best ball format. The tournament will have a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

John Chambell posted 7.74 quota points to win first place in the weekly quota points play at Mesa Del Sol on Monday morning, followed by Pam Herring in second with 6.5 quota points. Jack Parker finished third and Ray Butler finished fourth. The skin winners were Ray Butler, John Chambell, Dale Hoch, Pam Herring, Jack Parker and Marilyn Cotter.

Three teams tied for first place in the Mesa Del Sol Moose Lodge play on Tuesday morning and the three teams were: Randy Labrasseur, Evelyn Pribble, Donna Morris and Ken Sparks; Bob Lauer, Chuck Holland and Shirley Patterson; and Ron Hardin, Bud Hammond and Rick Parks.

On Tuesday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the Silver League gross score winners were Larry Garrett and Mark Hammons. The net score winners were Mark Parks and Conrad Eisenach. The team winners were Rollie Harris, Larry Nicholson, Greg Beatie and Lee Estes.

On Wednesday at the Foothills Executive Golf Course, the Men’s Club gross score winners were Al Smith and Rollie Harris. The net score winners were Larry Nicholson and Dennis Wagner. The team winners were John Newberry, Jim Hartley, Greg Beatie and Ken Kingston.

Bill Dowding was the top winner in the “Pinky’s Pick” play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Wednesday morning. Steve Parrish, Garry Sletten and Al Johnson all tied for second place followed by Garry Whicomb in fifth, Jim Mitchell in sixth and Raymond Throckmort­on in seventh.

In the Mesa Del Sol Thursday Twilight League play, Craig Bowman and Arlen Ritter won the two-person designated driver net scramble with a 28. Brian Anderson and Karl Semler were second with a 30. Two teams tied at 31. Events are open to women and men. Next week’s format is a two-person net best ball with designated drivers. Cost is $30 per player and includes bar snacks after play. Play begins at 4:45 p.m.

Stephen Parrish carded 28 gross power points to win the gross score division of the Mesa Del Sol MGA mixed play on Friday morning. Garry Sletten, Dale Hoch, Jack Parker and Al Johnson were the net winners. The skin winners were Raymond Butler, David Doherty, Al Johnson, Robert Lauer, Frank Manson, Sam Samples and Garry Sketten.

On Thursday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the Copper League gross score winners were John Cullen, Rollie Harris and Larry Garrett. The net score winners were Bill Taylor, Bob Selle and Michael Costello.
